When do babies start teething? In general, children gain their first tooth around the age of six month, or nine months. The first tooth that appears in a child's mouth is usually the top two middle teeth. It is rare case indeed to have first tooth growing at other places first.

Once the first two teeth have appeared, the process of growing teeth continues. Followed by the first two teeth will be the growing of the first set of molars. As front molars need more space to grow, they will appear after the first two teeth because the babies' mouth still provide ample spaces for growing.

On average, the first molar will appear roughly within ten to fourteen months, and the second set tends to appear subsequent to the first molar which is around the second and the third year.

Then, when the babies are almost a year and a half, their fangs tend to appeare. Fangs are also known as canine teeth. When they are almost eighteen months old, they already have a complete set of teeths that are inspectable by dentist.

In this period of time, it is easier to define whether your children have normal set of teeth, or the abnormal ones. Abnormal cases are having teeth growing out of fashion or seem to be going crooked.
