Every baby has his or he own individuality, hence the process of eruption of teeth can be quite different.


In the sense that the baby teething symptoms that they have, and their reaction in overcoming it.  Although not all babies have the same symptoms, there are still a few common ones that are observable in general.

When baby teething symptoms starts to appear, this normally occurs during the third month, these symptoms can be a disaster not only to babies, but to parents as well. Parents might start to face sleepless night caused by the baby. 

Although sleepless night cannot be avoided, parents still can have their ways to predict when their baby starts teething and get themselves ready for that. 

As the fact that babies react individually, parents should be prepared when common baby teething symptoms are found on their baby. 

The first baby teething symptoms is the tendency of babies to put objects into their mouth. Why children like to chew at this time? This is because when chewing an object, the pressure produced in the gums will help to sooth the child and reducing the discomfort that growing teeth may bring. 

For safety purposes, parent must keep all sharp items away from the reach of their children and provide them with some chewing accessories like baby teething rings or frozen waffle.  If you are on tight budget, you may want to consider rubber teething rings as it is cheaper and readily available.  Another popular remedy for baby teething symptoms is gripe water for babies though it is more often used for baby colic.

Other than the above, irritability is also one of the common baby teething symptoms. It is often accompanied with the increasing sore gums when teeth are ready to break through the surface of the skin. When the baby's teeth starts to grow, the numb pain might cause the baby to be irritated, hence turning the baby to be fuzzier than ever. 

However, after the first time, the child itself will have his or her own way of expressing it.  He or she will learn how to deal with the experience. 

The third symptom is shown when the baby is around three or four months old. They start to drool more often than usual.  As parents may not have realized, teething and drooling is closely connected and is part of the baby teething symptoms.

Another symptom closely connected to drooling will be cough. Due to the extra saliva provided in the mouth of the infant, it will gag and cough. In this situation, unless the baby is suffering from cold symptoms like having cold or flu, if not, there is nothing to be worried about.

Lastly, when the baby starts drooling excessively, there will be some rashes appearing around the mouth area.  Due to the flow of saliva, the skin around the mouth is constantly wet. To ease this problem, prepare a napkin for your infant. 

Constantly wipe the chin and also mouth few times a day, or when you notice it is getting wet. As babies skin are softer than adults, the action above needs to be carried on in a gently manner.  Rough wiping will only cause the skin to be more irritated.

Lastly, baby teething symptoms may cause pain in cheek and ears as well. If you notice that your baby is pulling their ears or rubbing their cheek to ease the pain, you should not worry about it too much because the pain will go off once the teeth break out from the gum.  

So how do you know when do babies start teething?  You should just pay attention to the baby teething symptoms discussed above and observe your baby situtation
